Support Ori’s Recovery Journey
On December 20, 2023, Ori Reches, a soldier in the IDF’s Nahal Brigade, was critically wounded when a booby-trapped door exploded in Gaza. The blast caused a severe brain injury, serious injuries to both hands, and extensive damage to his face. Since then, Ori, now 23, has undergone more than 25 surgeries and continues intensive rehabilitation to regain his speech, memory, and independence.
Ori now faces the final major stage of his facial reconstruction: a complex series of surgeries to rebuild his nose and lip in New York, requiring a stay of about three months. The Ministry of Defense covers the basic medical costs, but Ori needs his parents and additional caregivers by his side throughout this difficult period. At the same time, the family must continue caring for his two younger sisters at home in Israel. Donations will help cover flights, housing, and daily living expenses, allowing the family to stay strong and give Ori the support he needs.
Ori fought for all of us. Now we will not leave him or his family to face this alone.
The Dror for the Wounded Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) with a Federal Tax ID of 26-4528405
